Our History

The Collection Bureau of Walla Walla (CBWW) began as a merchant owned credit bureau in the 1920's and we became a privately owned business in 1980. Since 1999, we have streamlined our business to focus on debt collection. Our long history in Walla Walla Valley is a credit to our professionalism and excellent service to our clients.

Our employees average more than 16 years of experience with the Collection Bureau, giving them the experience to collect more money in a fair, courteous, professional, and ethical manner. Our personnel is carefully selected for proper attitudes and values. All employees are thoroughly trained and supervised to ensure that they are consistently maintaining your good public image. Our offices are in compliance with all state and federal law, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Our recovery rate consistently runs from 35-40% per year, which is nearly double the national average.

Our extensive, up-to-date database of consumers is one of the keys to our high recovery rate. Our ability to track individual consumers histories enable us to quickly determine the best cause of action to recover the debts owed to our clients.

Some consumers will only pay their debts when legal action is taken. The CBWW will pursue legal action on behalf of our client when the circumstances warrant and only after receiving written authorization from the client. The CBWW pays all court costs and attorney fees.

The CBWW charges only when the money is recovered from consumers. There are no up-front fees, and the cost of services is calculated on a contingency basis if we do not collect for our client, there is no charge. Since we do not get paid unless you get paid, we strive for quick and efficient results.
